Dr. Kambale Nguomoja Ildephonse is a distinguished public health expert and academic leader with nearly three decades of dedicated service in humanitarian response, disaster risk management, and higher education in the Democratic Republic of Congo. His career embodies a profound commitment to strengthening community resilience, advancing healthcare systems, and cultivating the next generation of professionals in medical and developmental sciences.

His academic foundation is robust, crowned by a Doctorate (PhD) in Public Health with a specialization in Disaster Risk Management from Sapientia International University. This advanced research builds upon a Master’s degree in the same field and a Licentiate in Nursing Sciences. His practical training began with a Graduate diploma in Nursing, underpinned by a strong secondary education in pedagogy. This unique combination of clinical knowledge, educational theory, and specialized public health expertise forms the cornerstone of his interdisciplinary approach.

He commenced his career as a treating nurse and clinical instructor, grounding his expertise in direct patient care and mentorship. He has served as the Coordinator for Civil Protection in Goma since 2009, a critical role involving preparedness and response to recurrent crises, including volcanic eruptions. His academic leadership is equally significant, having held positions as Secretary-General for Academic Affairs and currently serving as the Director General of the Higher Institute of Rural Development (ISDR) in Kanyabayonga and as the Quality Assurance Coordinator for the University of Martyrs of Congo in Goma. His extensive teaching portfolio includes tenures at multiple higher institutes of medical techniques.

He maintains an active scholarly profile, with publications in peer-reviewed journals focusing on pressing health challenges such as water-borne diseases, the clinical management of COVID-19 in comorbid populations, and the public health impact of volcanic activity. His research provides evidence-based insights crucial for policy and practice in complex humanitarian settings.
