COLLEGE OF MEDECINE AND HEALTH SCIENCES(CMHS)

The primary purpose of College of Medicine and Health Sciences(CMHS)
to educate Medicine and other health professionals for subsequent service in USA and around the world and to enhance the quality of life in the world. Other purposes include the discovery of knowledge that benefits the people of this state and enhances the quality of their lives.

  • Goals will be reviewed over the course of one year starting in February and August per year (two goals per (CMHS) meeting). The roll-up report will reflect the same and is due in December of each year.
  • Pre-meeting distribution of each unit’s strategic plan goal pair (for the upcoming meeting agenda) to the respective unit and ask units to send back their outcomes. That updated information from the units will be sent out to (CMHS) participants prior to (CMHS) meetings to ensure time for FC members to review material and consider possible synergies with other units.

Discussion of goals at (CMHS):

  1. How and what progress has been made? (any unit)
  2. What challenges or barriers may exist to progress? (any unit)
  3. Any examples of particular successes to highlight? (any unit)
  4. What are opportunities for collaboration between units? (all units)
  5. Encourage each unit to update their own unit’s plan related to that goal (as a result of individual unit progress and the discussion regarding collaboration).

Teaching and Learning:

DPHU offers affordable, innovative, relevant, and quality degrees and non-degree programs. In addition, the University provides an enabling environment for integrated continuous learning for students and its staff. With high international visibility and reputation, DPHU has the mission to train students capable of understanding and controlling the multiple interactions between Technology and Mankind, evolving in a global environment, managing innovative projects in both industrial sectors and research settings.

As the The mission of DPHU is to be the engine of the sustainable developement in the World. Coursework is offered via a cohort model, with student groups beginning each summer.

Program requirements may be completed in one year, allowing for students to be eligible to apply or re-apply to their desired professional program. Through the program, students will increase competitiveness in the professional school application process by proving their academic abilities and strengthening their science foundation. Graduates of this program are equipped to demonstrate tangible success with an intensive health sciences curriculum.

Core courses in (CMHS) will provide the necessary foundation for professional school success.

Students will select elective coursework from a variety of academic disciplines based on their professional and academic goals.
Other career options for students completing this program include (but are not limited to) teaching health sciences at high school or community college, biomedical research and other laboratory positions, and medical device and pharmaceutical sales.

Prerequisites

  1. Admission requirements set forth by the Office of Graduate Studies
  2. Completed introductory course work in each of the following areas:
  • General Biology (2 semesters)
  • General Chemistry (2 semesters)
  • Anatomy and Physiology (2 semesters)
  • Organic Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Statistics or Biostatistics
  • Microbiology
  • Medical Terminology (recommended)
  1. Undergraduate GPA at least 3.0 in prerequisite courses.
  2. Letter of intent that describes the applicant’s interests, goals, and plan
    Notice : Each Department programs housed within the College of Medecine and Health Sciences(CMHS handle the admissions process differently.
    In lieu of meeting the GPA requirements, professional school admission exam scores may be submitted for consideration by the admissions committee.
