PROF VINCENZA BORTONE
Professor Vincenza Bortone is a distinguished and recently retired teacher of French Language and Literature with an illustrious 33-year career dedicated to fostering Francophone culture, bilingual education, and European exchange in Italy. A recipient of France’s highest academic honor, she has been decorated as a Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques (Knight of the Order of Academic Palms) in 2020 and later awarded the Medal of the Palms in 2022 by the French Consul General in Naples, recognizing her exceptional contributions to promoting French language and culture.
Her professional legacy is defined by dynamic leadership in international educational programs. As the long-standing ESABAC Program Coordinator and Referent at the Liceo “Carolina Poerio,” she expertly guided the integrated Italian-French curriculum leading to dual diplomas. She tirelessly organized and led numerous cultural exchanges and language immersion programs with partner schools across France, including in Normandy, Grenoble, Valence, Passy, and Belley, creating transformative international experiences for generations of students.
Beyond the classroom, Professor Bortone has been a pivotal figure in teacher training and pedagogical innovation. Officially recognized as a “Formatrice” (Trainer) by the French Embassy in Italy and the Italian Ministry of Education, she has designed and led countless professional development seminars for Italian French teachers. Her expertise spans CLIL/EMILE methodologies, ESABAC program implementation, and the use of new technologies in language teaching. She has also served as a tutor and coordinator for national training projects (PON) and contributed to curriculum development as a pedagogical function holder within her schools.
A lifelong learner, she holds a Master’s Degree in Leadership and Management in Education and has pursued extensive specialization, including a DALF C1 certification (2025) and accreditation as a DFP Certifier (April 2025). Her career is also marked by the successful organization of multilingual theatrical productions, coordination of cinema projects, and victory in a European citizenship competition.
Professor Bortone’s career embodies a profound commitment to building educational bridges between Italy and France. As a master educator, trainer, and cultural ambassador, she has left an indelible mark on the landscape of language education and international cooperation in Southern Italy.
